How do I apply to universities in the UK?

So. You have decided to study in the Queen's own country - The United Kingdom. Before you go ahead planning everything, you need to start applying to UK universities.

We have compiled everything you need to know during your application process into a few simple steps in today's blog, so make sure you read till the end! 

Step 1: SELECT THE RIGHT COURSE

Making sure that you choose the right course that aligns with your goals and dreams is crucial. So take the time to read more about the course and syllabus. Irrespective of whether you're applying for a bachelor's or master's degree.

Step 2: CALCULATE THE COSTS

As an international student, you are going to incur several expenses apart from your tuition fees, such as accommodation, visa, travel, food, entertainment, and so on.

It is also wise to look and apply for scholarships that you are eligible for. Some universities also expect international students to take up proficiency tests like IELTS or TOEFL which come with separate costs. 

Step 3: NAVIGATING UCAS

UCAS or University and College Admission Service is the organization that operates all college and university applications in the UK. Most institutions will only accept your form if submitted through the UCAS system.

Here are a couple of tips to apply through UCAS:

Once you create your application and register it on the UCAS website, you are allowed to apply to a maximum of 5 programs - this can be across different universities or at the same university.

Enter your personal, financial source, skillset statement, and any additional test score information, previous educational credentials, such as the UCAT or BMAT for medicine, which may be required by some colleges.

The cool part about this is that you can save and return your application as many times as you need before submitting your final draft.
